Vaccine Essentials

Vaccines are biological products made from living microorganisms. Depending on the vaccine, it can take up to 22 months to produce a single batch. The development of a vaccine is a long, complex and costly process during which several stages must be successfully negotiated – from the understanding of the disease and its epidemiological data, to the delivery of a new vaccine to the end user.

“It is not only a question of manufacturing vaccines; they need to be administered considering economic, political, and ethical aspects.”
